I'm designing and revising my first gaming pc design. It's going to be midrange (I believe) and I'd like it to play AAA titles such as Arma III, GTA V, and CS:GO with good graphics (they don't have to be stellar I can't spend a small fortune on it). And so far I've landed here. The CPU cooler and case are having compatibility issues of being unable to verify if they fit together so a new case suggestion is fine so long as it works well! :p I also have a copy of Windows 8.1 as well as a spare cd drive (should I need one). I was going to add an SSD but it was expensive and I don't feel the need to own one at the moment (I've been using HDDs my whole life anyway). Can this build do what I'd like it to do?

I would get a better monitor myself. It is what you are going to be looking at all the time. I would also put the extra $40-50 to get an 240GB SSD then just hold out till you see a great sale on a mechanical drive.

You should be fine on stock fan unless you have high ambient temps or overclocking much.

If you don't plan to SLI you could also save a little money by going with an H97 motherboard instead of a Z97.

I agree with squeezing a little more money on a better monitor. There are some good options for 24" displays for <= $200.

In my opinion I would also look for a better case. That Raidmax looks like it has poor options for cooling and cable management. For a little more money I would look at a Corsair 200R or NZXT Source 210 Elite.

Can you please answer the stickied "ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS FIRST!" thread so that we can help you better?

Although yeah as it stands now, that setup isn't that good for the money.
