Hey hardforums, I purchased a blackbird 002 acouple years ago, recently the mother board fried and I want to swap it for a fairly cheap board that can take it's place.

I want a cheap new board that I can just plug in with the current connections, I took various photos as I am not all that techy.

The current board is a 780i sli evga

Is there anyboard out there that can use the quad core chip, graphic car, and psu?

I took various photos to help you determine.

Here's a thread I posted on the evga forums way back with some more photos:

I don't want to fix the board, I just want to replace it with a cheaper one.
If its on amazon that will be great!

It really depends what you are planning to do with the system. I saw in the EVGA thread you want to sell. If that's still the case you are better off selling the parts you have as opposed to fixing and trying to sell the system as a whole. Whole systems (even the newest) do not sell well. It's much easier to sell the parts individually.

Do you know what CPU model you have?

Hey both n3zyd and K1tty,

I just want to replace the board with a board on amazon. Yes n3zyd, that is what I have, but they made different models to that so I don't want to throw the specs off.

Here's the spec to the chip that I have: (copied all info that was on top the chip)
intel 06 Q9450
intel core 2 quad
slawr malay
2.66ghz/12m/1333/05A
L819B128

and I have a rocketfish 700wps2 power supply,

and a nvidia card, the one in the photos. I don't know the name of it that is why I took the photo to let you know if it can fit on the future board.

I looked at a few on amazon, but i haven't seen any with a 8-ping CPU power connector that my current board has..

Other than that I just want a fairly cheap board where my current psu will work and my current chip can plug right in and go, and with my current card..

Unfortunately you will have a hard time finding anything new. Most boards on Amazon are used from a 3rd party. A P35/P45 chipset board would be your best bet, but I only see those on Ebay in the $70-ish range (these are used as well). With a used board you may end up in the same situation a few months down the road with no warranty to fall back on.

would that work? I see that it has a "Socket 775 Support Intel Core 2 Quad" which is whats on my cpu chip, i don't know if the chipset match..

can that work with my current power supply? would I need to get a 8pin to 4pin wire?

You turned on that motherboard without a heatsink? i mean, seriously, you powered on the motherboard without any thermal protection on your processor?

Turning on an EVGA 780i SLI is risky anyway. :D
