As the title says,
I had one of the people I b0rged send me a config file to edit myself as their compie was not registering results under my folding handle. I was wondering whether editing it using wordpad was the best idea since the b0rg uses the graphical client and not the console client.

Another editing question. The line for "usereg" was set at "no". Is this the reason why the b0rg was not sending in units? I am asking this because the 'usereg' in my config says 'yes' but once again I am using console, the b0rg is not. To clarify I am showing the file.

I need help ASAP. Hopefully I can send the edited config back to her before the end of the week.

edit: added config file

Thanks guys

If I remember right, you have to use an editor that doesn't put a return at the end of every line.... I can't remember the name of the one suggested, but I'm sure someone else who has done it will chime in (or a quick Google search)

Keep on Folding!!

Thanks Killer[MoB]... I couldn't remember the name...

so is the 'usereg' command the reason why the results don't show up for me? I don't see any other problem.

That looks like my Config file apart from three differences.
Name, yours is wrong & mine is right...... :p .
Mine is set up for big packets.
My battery=no.

Is the comp sending work in and getting new work units but your just being not credited with the points or is it just not sending work in and getting new work units.

If its the first then you need the User ID of that box, which can be found at the top of the FAHlog.txt file, and then go and ask over a the F@H support forum has this box sent any work in.

If the second then sound like a firewall / blocked ports is stopping it connecting to Stanford.

Luck......... :D

don't think it is a firewall/blocked ports issue since my dad has been sending in wu from the same network without a problem. She herself reports that she has been working on a new wu. Looks like I have to ask for a log file also. :(

edit: added config file

Thanks guys

Usereg=no is that way on most machines.

Stanford is adiment about NOT editing that file because everything you need to change can be done properly from –configonly

Go console, it’s much easier

Well for some of us...... opening the config file in notepad is the only way to do it.... and there isn't that much to it really, as long as you open it in Notepad.... Wordpad will format the file and then you end up getting problems with FAH.

If you edited it with Wordpad, that would explain why you're not getting completed WU's from this guy.

Why do you have battery=yes? That's used for laptops if you want to continue folding while under battery power...... I don't think it'll do a thing for a desktop unless you want to fold off of an UPS when the power goes out.

lol I feel so stupid now. Looks like she was travelling and on battery and folding was way down. Only 60 or so frames in 2 weeks.

I apologise for the commotion. Sorry guys, but thanks for the help.(Watches Adultswim and Comedy Central to forget this happened)

Fold your boxen out.
