My understanding:
There are tri-stim, and spectrophotometers. The latter is very expensive.

Tri-stim are usually inaccurate, as the above link says as well as these:
http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/content/spyder3elite.htm#conclusion
http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/content/spyder3elite.htm#success
Spectrophotometers are very accurate,
http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/content/i1_pro.htm#conclusion
http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/content/i1_pro.htm#lacie
I assume because of the price that these are not spectros. Am I wrong? Why are they so cheap? Are they likely to still be good, despite their age?
Why are their calibrations so accurate, if they're not spectro? Is it an error?

Thanks!!!
