Hey...im a noob at folding (about a week now) and i am using the graphical version (i think its pretty :) ) but anyways... i was wondering if there is something i can do to make my system pump these WU's out fast and for more points. Any help will be greatly appreciated :)

Overclocking is about the only other way to makes them go faster after you move to the console version.

FINE...i will get rid of the pretty :p Thanks for the help

Check out EMIII it'll let you display images of the proteins, and give you more stats then the graphical. Of course use this with the console.

is it that big of a difference in work output between console and graphical version?
It's not that big of a difference, in terms of points per day. The biggest difference is that the console plays much nicer with other programs, particularly games that use OpenGL. Essentially, once you set up the console, you'll never have to think about it again.

Another BIG boost, when using the command line, set the -advmethods flag. On AMD systems, you will see a boost of up to 50% in some cases. On average though.....an easy 25% gain in ppd.

Alaskan] How do you set up the console?

Wait for the gui version to sppit out your current wu, then delete everything, d/l the console client, and enter to everything if you have 512mb+ memory (yes to large workunits, and advanced methods). The most important part though is to set user name to: SpoogeMonkey_([H]ardOCP). This will increase your ppd substantially :D
