My rig has an 80mm fan at the front as an intake. I noticed my primary HDD (120gb WDigital drive with 2mb cache) was generating some heat, and so mounted it fairly low in the case so that air from the front intake is blown accross it. This has done a nice job of reducing the temp on the drive, and doesnt appear to have had an effect on the ambient temps, but I'm still not convinced it's a good idea as I'm about to replace the currently crappy 80mm cheapo with a half-decent TT smart-case fan II. Has anyone else done this?? Is it likely to cause probs??
