I have this annoying buzz sound coming from the power supply, I have search for some pics of it and I have come to think that the plastic thing on top of the fan is making this noise, do you think gluing it down to the fan itself will hurt it (Warranty is gone)

Here is what I am talking about,

I think the air from the fan is hitting the plastic thing and it shakes it causing the buzz noise.

It's a loose winding on a transformer, not the plastic sheet there. The only thing you can do about it, is rma.

oh bugger, I may rma it in January since the holidays starts soon, if I had know it was a loose transformer I would of replace it long time ago.

It seems like there are quite a few that have this. it's not a performance thing, it's just the sound. If it really doesn't bug you, there's no reason you need to. If it does, though..

Yes it drives me insane I either leave the room or turn the PC off (or more likely turn on some music), it does it on random times, this problem and the Logitech Z-5500's tapping noise (power spikes or something) are the only 2 problems I have had with me PC setup and each day is driving me more insane.

I see what I can do about these things in January.

P.S if you know about the Logitech Speakers problem also (its not just me getting the noise) please post it down.

Well I just took the thing apart since it was driving me up the wall and the warrantly was gone so I said what the hell, I decided to put some sticky tape on the plastic sheet thing on to the fan and guess what no more noise :D.

Hello everyone,

I wanna announce that I had a couple of problems with TT TP 750W Cable Management PSU as well.

The first one has started with annoying buzzing sound while I was benchmarking my just 2 day-old system 3DMark06 and I ended up with blow of TT TP 750W power supply . When I deinstalled the unit, I noticed that there was an oil splashes on the pals of fan and the clear shield between the fan and electrical compartment. I returned it where I bought my system components. Money refund procedure ended in 10 days.

During the time I have installed my old FPS 550W PSU and benchmarked, played games etc. After money refund I thought that "TT is a quality brand, maybe the problem was just specific to my TT TP 750". Then I repurchased another TT TP 750W from another shop.

After 2 days of lacking sound and any previous problems, the new one blew off while the city circuit was gone. In the meantime, the PC was off and 2000 KVA UPS was on. In less than 5 minutes, the buzzing sound started and ended up with same blowout sound as happened to the previous one . What I found this time was exactly the similar situation which was fan pals were covered up with oil splashes.

For the time being, I am using my old FPS 550 watt PSU and waiting for the service procedure which will take approximately 15 days.

1- I have been wondering whether "TT TP 750W Cable management" has faults .

2- Is there any possibility that the fan oil causes the short circuit in PSU

Thank you in advance.
