help: telnet on VOX n1 NAS

so I picked up a VOX n1 NAS that was posted in [h]otdeals: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1512061

I got the IDE version for a drive I had laying around.
Anyway I would like telnet/ssh access and I think its possible. Here is what I know so far:

its based in a RDC 2882-G chip
firmware is NAS-BASIC48 with bootloader 69, seems to be from LANDISK

there are websites i found in japanese that seem to say you can enable telnetd but i can't tell if it is for the LANDISK firmware i currently have. the screenshots in the wiki are a different web interface then mine:

anyway has anyone else gotten telnet accesses or managed to mount the nand chip in the device? thanks!
