I've just built a new PC and am having some difficulties and need some advice as I am really new to this. I built the new PC, and started it up...everything was working fine and I was in the BIOS checking a few items and making a few minor changes (boot order, raid, etc.) when all of a sudden the PC just shuts down. I tried to reboot and all the system fans come on (including the cpu fan), but nothing else happens. There are three lights on the Motherboard blinking red (gpu, ram, cpu).

I've removed board from case and disconnected everything but cpu/fan, video card, 1 stick of ram, mouse/keyboard. Still no luck...the board immediately comes on with lights on and does not change. I've reset CMOS...still no luck. Please help.

Build

i7 930
Asus Sabertooth mother board
Sapphire hd5770 1gb
6gb Corsair ddr3 1600 7-8-7 20
Corsair tx750w

If you need any other information please let me know.

Assuming you haven't fried anything, do you have another PSU and GPU you can try? Since you took the motherboard out of the case I assume it isn't getting shorted by anything. Make sure all power connections are secure, video card PCI-E, 8 pin 12V and 24 pin main ATX connector. Try other ram slots and different sticks of ram as well. Does your motherboard give beep codes or otherwise gives data on why it isn't posting?

I've checked all connections, reset cmos, etc. Spoke with Asus tonight after troubleshooting board worked fine for about 15 minutes. Then same problems again. They say it's a bad psu...I've got another at home in my pc just like it...going to swap tomorrow and try again. Thanks for the help.

Yep...that's what it was bad psu. Now if I can just get Corsair to replace it. Hopefully quickly :).
