hi. i recently got some upgrades. my new system is in my signature (like everyone elses) and here was my old system:

256 sdram
athlon thunderbird 900 mhz
radeon 7000 64 mb
same hd

now the problem is that i am still loading slow on some games (warcraft 3, battlefield 1942/vietnam). whats causing this? i suspect the slow hard drive, but i dont really know for sure.
 
5400 rpm drives are woefully slow. I had a Samsung SV8004H 5400 rpm drive as my main drive once, and it was AWFUL. A WD Special Edition drive would show a night and day type of difference.
 
Get a 7200rpm HD with 8mb Cache, or get a Western Digital Raptor or two (for raid0) if you can afford it.
 
you did a clean install of OS after upgrading, didn't you? umm... yeah - I guess it's your hard drive since you have enough ram and CPU power to make BF load pretty fast...
