Hi,

My planned rig is the following:

CPU: E4300 Intel Core Duo
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3
GPU: Sapphire ATI X1950 PRO
RAM: Corsair XMS2 TWIN2X2048-6400 DDR2-800 CL 5-5-5-12 240PIN DIMM
Case: Coolermaster CAC-T05 Centurion 5
HDD: WD SE16 500GB SATA2 7200RPM 16MB Cache

I might do some overclocking in the near future to get some more power out of the E4300.

I first decided to go with the well reviewed Corsair HX-520. However, I was advised that it will be somewhat of an overkill for my rig. So I guess going with a cheaper/lower wattage PSU would be smarter.
In Canada, the Corsair HX-520 was selling for $90 CAN, after MIR. I am ready to spend that sum for a quiet and reliable PSU. But I dont want to purchase more watt than I need..
Additionally, I would not want to spend above $80 CAN, since my other parts are budget components in today's PC market. I do understand tho that PSU importance is underestimated, so I want to make the right decision.

After browsing some online Canadian sites and reading newegg.com reviews, it looks like the: FSP Group SAGA 450W ATX 12V would be a solid choice. It only sells for $55 CAN.
I also came upon the Thermaltake TR2 W0090 470W ATX12V V2.0 24 which sells for $70 CAN.

FSP SAGA 450W

Thermaltake 470W

Should I go and purchase the FSP PSU? Will it be a quality and reliable PSU for my rig? Should I still go with the Corsair HX-520? Maybe there are other good/cheap PSUs that will suit my budget rig?

Replies are welcomed.
Thanks.

Silverstone ST50EF 'Element'

I have one, and it is very quiet in my system (E4300, P5B Deluxe, 4hdd's, 7800GT). They also test well at reputable sites like JonnyGURU's, and they are always on sale at NCIX; I bought mine for $84.

I'd either get the Silverstone recommended above or spring for the 520HX. Then you've got enough headroom that if you do a CPU or GPU swap along the road you won't have to worry.

It is only $8 cheaper than the Corsair HX-520..

I really don't plan to upgrade anything besides my HDD with this rig. That is why I'm not selecting a P35 mobo. I really wouldnt want to spend $90 and a PSU, but I do not want to sacrifice quality at the same time..
