hi folks,

I have bought a dell 1905 and the colors are a bit wash out so I put the brightness down up to 40% and the colors with the red 100%, green at 98% and blue at 96% and contrast at default. I hardly improved the colors so I wonder if somebody with this monitor got better colors with another set up.

I can believe my 3.5 years old TFT 15 LG 575 45ms has got better color than the new Dell 1905!!! even the mouse pointer got less ghosting on some colors!!!!!

On the other hand I love the ergonomics of the dell ;)

Hi there,

Try this thread. You'll find a color profile that should help out.
Anyway, playing with the colors settings of the monitor will not get you far. You're better off poking around the color settings of your video card (more options and larger range of adjustment).
Once calibrated, this monitor is supposed to have great colors.

As for ghosting... The 1905FP is a PVA panel made by Samsung. The white to black response is 20ms but the response increases rapidly as the difference between the initial and final state of the pixel decreases i.e. in gray-to-gray transitions you will get ghosting.
