Well my stuff should ship any day now, then I'm sure I'll have some questions once it comes. I've still gotta get the 3/8" NPT x 1/2"ID fittings for the rad, and figure out how I'm going to thread the holes in my bonneville.
US Plastics will only let me get 10ft of tubing. I was going to get 1ft of 3/16ID x 7/16OD to use on the DDC-12V as an adaptor. Any suggestions hwo I can pick up a little piece for cheap?
Smallest OD that DangerDen has is 5/8. I really doubt I could fit 7/16" Tygon over that. Sidewinder has 1/2" OD which is only a little bigger than the 7/16"ID stuff I've got. But will tubing stretch over tubing? Sounds tough.
Also, thoughts on going Tygon on the little bit, or just grabbbing some cheapo stuff? Especially if I'm forced to buy in bulk?
Pick the size you want fom this page on mcmaster.com. I got 10' 7/16"id tubing for $8 shipped, so it shouldn't be too much for you because they have no minimum order.
Alright, I got some 5/16"ID 7/16OD tubing from home depot. I managed to get it onto the 3/8" Barbs after dipping it in some boiling water for a few seconds to soften it up. Any dangers in doing this? It's for the 1" piece I need on the pump barb to act as a size adapter.
So once I got it on, it's tough to cut it so that the tubing is perfectly flush with the end on the inlet. How critical is this, like if the tubing is set ever so slightly in front of or behind the edge of the inlet. I don't know if it will create any flow issues like a standard adapter would, or I'm just being crazy and it will be fine as long as it's close.
So now I put my 7/16" Tygon on top of that. I've gotta say this Tygon is some sweet stuff. So, I can partially get it on over the other tubing, but it starts to push the smaller tubing with it rather than just sliding over. I fixed this by softening up the Tygon in water, once again... safe?
Once I got the tygon all the way on, it seemed to be pulling to one end of the barb. Hard to explain but it wasn't like perfectly straight I think since the one edge was pulling inwards a bit.
