Can anyone help me with this one? I have a HTPC that has taken a recent auto update and the screen is now slightly resized larger than the 1080p screen. I've tried everything I can think of to fix this but I am getting nowhere.

It is a Nvidia EVGA GT710 on HDMI out connected to a Panasonic ST55 55" plasma. I've looked in the Nvidia control panel under the adjust desktop size and position. Also tried to rollback the update. Update the drivers.

yup. look for overscan or underscan in the nv control panel. should have a little slider to adjust size. and if you cant find that use TVtool as recommended by NVidia.
 
Disable overscan in the TV menu, don't use your GPU's overscan correction.
Overscan correction means that the image will be rescaled to fit the display, disabling overscan displays the source pixels 1:1.
Very old HDTVs lacked the option to disable overscan, which is why overscan correction exists. Newer displays like your ST55 Plasma will have an overscan option in the menus. Check the advanced picture settings.

If it's the 50PK550 listed in your signature, the datasheet says that it should have a "Just Scan (0% overscan)" option in the aspect ratio correction control.
If you have a 1080p television, I would be very surprised if it doesn't have the option to disable overscan. It's really only anything older than that where it was an issue.
 
yeah its the one in my sig and yeah it has "just scan". I had it set to 16:9 due to my old bluray player looking weird on anything but 16:9. don't have that anymore and never thought to set it to "just scan". so just now I set it and turned off hdmi scaling and every thing looks fine(the same as 16:9 with scaling). thanks for that! but does it make any difference?

The image should be sharper since it isn't being scaled.
