help resuscitate my SB live

I've got the sb live! digital 5.1 card in my rig listed in the sig. I restarted, now all of the sudden no sound :( It's not recognized in windows when I start. I tried moving the card to a different PCI slot, and disabled the onboard sound. any other suggestions? is it maybe a chipset conflict? Thanks for any help.
 
it worked beforehand, so they were already installed to begin with. if windows doesnt recognize there being a card, I don't see how that'd help... thanks for the suggestion tho.
 
Alright, it works. I took it out, switched the PCI slot again, cleaned the gold contacts, and now it works. (there was a voodoo ceremony involved, too, but that's irrelevant.) Now I can continue to kill Trigens.
