I was goofing around with two new hard drives tonight and setup a stripping raid array across both drives. I used the raid on my motherboard and i got everything setup. Well I decided I didn't want to mess with raid and I would rather use LVM instead, but when I delete the raid array and disable raid in the bios, I still can't get the bios to detect the individual drives. Is there another step I am missing? Do I have to return the drives to all zeros?

Deleting the array in the RAID bios should be enough to return the drives to "normal". Is there a separate entry in the BIOS(not RAID BIOS) that dictates RAID or IDE operation for the RAID controller you used?

plug the hdd in different sata port. Some motherboard has "hardware" raid on 2 port and the 2 or 4 others arent
