Speakers are Logitech Z-560's.
At first I had a Sound Blaster Live 5.1 X-Gamer and everything worked fine. Slowely though, the rear speakers quit on me, and then the front ones. I tried a pair of headphones plugged into the sound card to verify that it was indeed the card, not my speakers.
So I bought a new Audigy 2 ZS and just got it installed and all the drivers in. Now I've got the front speakers working, but again nothing from the rear.
Everything is set up correctly, in control panel and in Creative's setup, to be quadrophonic/4.1. The speakers are plugged into the appropriate jacks on the sound card and all the wires into their proper places (nothing has changed with the wiring since they worked).
Now I use the Creative calibration tools (ie not stereo sources) so I know that sound *should* be coming from those two rear speakers, alas it is not.
From this description, can anyone think of something I perhaps missed?
