How does the water flow inside a radiator, eg: Black Ice ?

Does it flow through all the grills ? Or just through the sides ?

I just dented mine right where the screw hole is. I guess my screw where too long... :(

I'm just worried a bit...

If you look you will see flat tubes that run through the finned area of the radiator. It goes through those tubes, and the "tanks" (plenum) at the ends.

Crap.............. this is bad :'(

How strong could those things be ? It's quite bad looking dent though...

Is this gonna be trash ?

Connect some tubing up to it and submerge the radiator in water, with the tubes sticking out. Blow through one end of the tubing and see if you see any bubbles. After that test is passed, do a 24 hour leak test paying close attention the area where you struck the radiator. If you pass both of those you are good to go.

If you do have a leak, try patching it with some jb-weld or some other epoxy.

usually the screwholes line up with fins and not the channels... I have a BIP and the first screws I used were to long and it bent some fins and that is it. No harm done.

the GTS radiators WILL spring a leak if screwed into too far.

Learned this the hard way...

The BIP and BIX radiators will NOT leak if screwed into too far.

I will try submerging it in water first...

It's a GTS, and I can see the alignment under the screw hole. And I can see the flat tube dented down around half a milimeter. The other side has only fins dented. It's just this 1 hole.

Does these GTS, which is in copper, ever corrode ? I mean if so I pass those 2 tests (submerge and 24 hour run), and that small dent may have weaken the metal will it someday corrode or rust off and leak ?
