Hello all.

I just built a new computer and am having problems with my Gigabyte GeForce 6600GT PCI-e (NV-NX66T128D).

I’m having a lot of Artifacts and errors happening in every game I play from WoW to the Battlefield series to HL2/CS:S. basically every game I’ve tried it has happened in.

It runs everything else perfect. 2D is flawless. DVD’s run fine.

I’ve tried different Drivers from 66.93, 71.24(came with the card) and now currently 71.81 and none have fixed the problem. I did use drivercleaner between each install of the drivers. The 71.81’s seemed to help a small bit compared to the others but the problem is still very evident.

The card has not been OC yet and is running at an idle temp of 50-55c(seems a tad hot to me)

Anyone know of what I should do or have had the same issues?

My System Specs are:
Windows Xp Pro SP2 (fully updated)
Athlon 64 3200+ (Zalman 7700 HSF)
DFI LanPartyUT NF4 Ultra-D
1gb G.Skill PC-400
Forton 530w PSU
36.6Gb WD ‘Raptor’ 10k HD
PLEXTOR DvDRW PX-712A

Thanks all,
Shinja

I have a BFG 6600GT OC and it idles anywhere from 49 to 55. So it sounds right to me. As for the other issues It sounds like the card may be bad. I'm playing HL2 with this card at 1280x1024 2xaa 8xaf.

Yeah i've disabled fastwrite. i was thinking it was a Bad card but was hoping maybe it was just some small thing i've missed. Oh well. now to RMA it back to NewEgg.

thanks ^_^
