I got a ATI 9800 pro 256mb AGP, Abit AV8 mother board, AMD 64 bit athlon 3500+, and a E19A Neovo LCD monitor.. I can tell you the rest of the specs if need be...

My problem is in games, the graphics get choppy, and dark colors blur.

I have installed all the newest drivers for all the components in my system. I'm not sure how to fix this problem and a friend of mine told me to post on a forum, heard this one get's a lot of traffic.
 
Follow the sticky at the top of the vid card forum to clean out your vid card drivers, reinstall the m as report back to see if that works or not.

I was reading the FAQ before I posted, but this is a system I just made. There are no other drivers on this set up, but I'll do it anway.
 
No sir, I don't know how to overclock a card...

I didn't oveclock anything it's all on default settings.

Not to sure on the colors atm, but did you make EXTRA sure that you installed your chipset (motherboard) drivers BEFORE your video card drives? It has happened to me numerous times before that if I forget, and accidently install the video drivers and then the chipset drivers, i get choppy video and frame rates in games.
 
I'm not sure, but that sounds like a solution so I gotta try it.

Teach me the ways of how to fix it!

Chipset drivers aren't the easiest things in the world to clean out, and not really something you can just uninstall. It might sound like a bit of a chore, but backup what you need to and format your drive....re-install windows....and make absolutely sure that the FIRST thing you install at ALL (possibly after SP2 if its not integrated into your XP cd) is your chipset drivers.

If you just got the whole comp then the blurring COULD just be due to the LCD.....as unless you found a good one or its a newer model I hadn't seen, Neovo are usually more along the lines of budget LCD's.....which typically have slower response times, and poor color reproduction.......and because something like a simple driver complication typically couldn't muck up coloring like that, I'm going to go ahead and say that you're most likely gonna be stuck with the blur.

Get back to me when/if you get a chance to try the re-install with the chipset drivers though.....and we can go from there.

Definatly not in the mood to format. To much a hassle.

Well I dont see any way in hell that the monitor is gonna fix your choppy framerates....but it sure as hell might get rid of the blurring....give it a shot.

Keep looking around for other possible "fixes" for your problems, like making sure that AA whatnot is all disabled, but again, with that system it shouldn't slow things down THAT much.

I hope you can find another way around this, but don't be surprised if you DO have to take the time to formatt one day and redo the drive installs properly. I'm not saying you're wrong and I'm right, but right now we really don't know....and I've seen choppy framerates caused by this same reason way to many times NOT to take the time to check it out.....but its obviously up to you.

Expect me to be back if I have any problems thanks a lot but the frame rate and the blurring are no problem on my crappy monitor. Being redundant but oh well just wanted to say thanks.

You're saying it "fixed" both or just the colors?

If it seems to have gotten rid of the choppiness then it wouldnt have even technically been "choppy" in teh first place.....display could have been cutting in and out, or on its last leg or whatnot.....but I've just never seen, or heard of a monitor making graphics look choppy and nothing more. :confused:

Well duh, everybody KNOWS that LCD's aren't as good as CRT's for gaming....and do still blurr, especially with the "quality" of screen like that Neovo.....its easily understandable that things would have been quite blurry for ya.

I still don't understand EXACTLY what the choppiness was though, as you said it's gone with the CRT.
