Well, I finally got all of the parts for the Gaming computer:
Asus K8V MB
1GB Ram
Athlon 64 3200+ CPU
WD Raptor 37.5GB SATA
WD 200GB SATA HD
Plextor DVD+-/R,etc...

Now, here is the problem. I put it all together, and turned it on and got power ...all the fans work, the MB green light comes on, and NOTHING else happens.

I removed the HS/Fan, took out the CPU and reinserted it, still nothing. Do you have any suggestions? Since I get no post noise, no beeps, etc, I am guessing that the problem is the CPU. What do ya'll think? :(
 
Is it possible that I could have a grounding issue, even if I am getting power, lights, fans, etc?
 
Remove your RAM and try it. If you still get no beeps, put the RAM back in and remove the processor. If that gets you no beeps, you have to looks at your psu or mobo. I would lean toward mobo at that point.

yes, grounding somthing out can take out only part of the system, no harm in checking to see if its touching anything metal underneath and you did use those brass risers to mount your motherboard correct?

if none of those things appear to be the problem its time to rma the motherboard
 
Well, all of the parts do work and I figured out what would fix the problem...here is the answer.
1. When I took out all of the RAM (2 x 512MB), I got 3 beeps.
2. When I put 1 stick in, the machine booted
3. When I changed the sticks and replaced the first stick whith the second one, the machine booted
4. Whe I put both sticks on the same bank, one blue and 1 black, the machine booted. I was under the impression, when reading the manual, that if I wanted dual ram, I was to use both of the blue slots (one on each bank). Either the pair of RAM I bought is not capable of being dual or something is wrong with using the 2 blue slots at the same time with nothing in the black slots.
5. Anyway, the machine is now booting and all of the parts seem to work.
