Ok heres my dilema...i had a audigy 2 ex Platinum that had the extrenal i/o and The creative Inspire GD580 5.1 Speakers, when i first got em i had em hooked up through to the digital out on the i/o console, everything worked great untill the i/o console broke (someone spilled beer on it) then i hooked the speakers up to the analog connection the orange green and black plugs and select analog on the inspire's external proccesor thing, after that the subwoofer didnt work...unless i played a DVD then i got full 5.1, subwoofer wouldnt work in winamp or anything...this pissed me off but i just couldnt do anything about it, i then decieded to check my mother boards AC'97 with the same connections...5.1 and subwoofer work fine in everything including winamp...WTF.

So i lived with that for 2 years today I went and picked up a X-Fi extreme music thinking this would solve my problem, just installed all excited to get my subwoofer back...low and behold SAME PROBLEM! what the hell is going on seriously? creative products cant work together on analog connections or what? can someone PLEASE help me out! the subwoofer works fine in the thx setup thing i click on it and it buzzes but with the creative player and winamp none of my mp3s have bass with the subwoofer...all settings are set to 5.1 and everything...im lost and just about furious.

In the THX console under bass managment i had to enable bass redirection, works fine now.
