its probably power related ?
and the cpu temps are 30c idle 37c under load
mobo around 35c the most
drivers im using now cat 4.1 via 4.51 and directx9.0b
4x agp.
and i got a new hsf because my old one died out. it was a dynatron dc1206bm-l/610-p-cu.

What are your temps?
What thermal interface material did you use?

people and there memtest to fix everything...

anyways, sounds like your computer is overheating. new motherboards have a bios setting to shutdown whenever the CPU gets to hot (check it out, maybe yours shuts off at a really low temp). when you play games, you have intensive processor usage upping the heat, and intensive video card usage, which really ups the heat. try reseating the heatsink and use artic silver 3 or 5.

new hsf? motherboards also have a BIOS setting that if the hsf fan goes to slow, the motherboard shutdowns as a safety precaution as it thinks the CPU fan is failing. i doubt it is this, but it might be that your fan is simply failing... can't explain why it only does it during games though, unless your bios also increases the fan speed when the temperature goes up.

I would guess it has something to do with your HSF. Use Artic Silver and try to reseat your HSF. Maybe that HSF is not the best one to use. What processor do you have?

Plot is on the money. I'd bet it's a bad seating of the HSF. I mean let me summarize your story, see if the problem jumps out at you.

My system worked ok.
I opened my system and replaced 1 component.
Now my system is flaky.

I'm going out on a limb here and guessing the -1- thing you changed is the cause of the problems. Try reseating you HSF, clean up any goop you used and try to reapply, with HSF goop, a little dab will do ya'.
