Help Parallel CCFL Fans Plus a DPDT Switch ??

Ok I have a question that I hope some one could help me with :confused: .
I wanted to wire 3 120mm CCFL case Fans in Parallel and have them hook up to a single DPDT switch so the can be adjusted from 12v-7v. Would this work even though the fans also have CCFL on them?? Also will this switch be able to hold the that many fans and ccfl's?

No problem with the switch, in fact you'd be hard pressed to find a switch that won't handle the current you need. Fwiw, panel mount switches like that are more difficult to mount because you have to dremel a square opening instead of simply drilling a hole.

Also, for simple uses, a single pole spdt would work... but I think you might need to power the ccfl inverters from 12v as they might not like 7v, so you do in fact require a dpdt switch. The fan description seems to infer the inverter power leads are seperate from the fan, so you'd wire the fans to one pole of the switch and the inverters from the other. The fan side would have the 5v & 7v supplies at either throw terminal with the lead to fans at the center. It wouldn't matter for the inverter side, it could be the same but with 12v at both throw terminals and the center lead to the inverters, or the other way round.

Actually, if you don't require a center-off, you can simply wire the inverters to a 12v source and use a spst switch wired as above for the fan speed.

Just to clarify... I note the switch you link is ON-ON. That being the case, there is no need to switch the inverter power, simply run it off 12v. Also meaning you can use a spst if you'd like.

YOU MIGHT WANT TO CONFIRM THAT SWITCH... I DID'NT NOTICE THE DESCRIPTION IS DPSDT WHICH MUST BE A TYPO BECAUSE THERE IS NO SUCH THING. THE IMAGE APPEARS TO BE A SPST WHICH WILL NOT WORK FOR YOU.
 
I see what your saying (I think). Lets say I did something like this for the fans and switch DPDT would this work and make it able to switch 7v - 12v by spliting the 12V line and have the 3 fans running in parallel to the switch.
