I'm looking at getting a little more performance out of my chip. What kinds of voltage/cooling would it take for a modest 3.4-3.6GHz overclock?

A CoolerMaster 212 +/Evo would do well for you on the cheap and will probably be good for 4ghz+. Make sure it fits in your case first though.

That's perfect actually. I've got one lying around from when I upgraded to water on my main!

Any idea what average voltages for 3.5 or so are on these chips?

I'm at 3.6GHz with 1.2875V in BIOS (1.280V under load). Does that sound good?

Your voltage sounds high. I have mine at 4ghz at 1.26v

Keep it under 80c and under 1.3v imo

Is it possible that when the HSF and CLP reacted that it could have damaged my top PCI-e slot? Because that started giving me issues after that happened... I'm gonna be so sad if I damaged it because I wanted a few degrees lower...

Should I use P95 instead of IBT?

And I've got a Cooler Master Seidon 120M. The 212 didn't play well with my Coolaboratory Pro and it ate through the aluminum block... Forgot that you weren't supposed to use it with aluminum. :(

OUCH sorry to hear about that. I guess it could have been worse. Personally, I only use p95

What temps are you getting

I freaked and had to wait a day to test everything since my only HSF was toast. Luckily 90% of things work still... :/ would prefer 100% but with what happened I'll take what I can get.

Temps on IBT hit 74 max after 25 runs of ~3300MB RAM. I know P95 usually is a bit lower temps wise. I'll test more on P95 then for stability.

I'd love to hit 4GHz since the only CPU I've done it on is my 3770K and a child could hit 4 on that thing :p
