OK, This is what I have:

AMD XP 3200+
Soltek SL-K8AN2E-GR
1 GB (2 sticks) of CORSAIR XMS RAM
Gigabyte 6600GT AGP
500 Watt PS

All of that, running with a SBLive! Value PCI. Argh.

Regardless, I can't seem to make sense of HTT timings and CAS latency.

I just want a little more out of the proc, and the RAM too, but whenever I look at the BIOS settings, my head spins. It used to be just FSBxCore frequency and up the voltage a little - but now it's completely different.

I have the Newcastle core, and hope that it can take a simple overclock. I have AS5 on it with a "Volcano" type heatsink (will verify model when I get home) that is quite nice - but I can't seem to get this to overclock properly and I know it's my own ignorance.

The RAM automatically sets itself a 2-2-2-5, but am willing to adjust with a little help.

What should I try first?

TIA,
