Hey all, I have a few questions here... ok my setup is onboard audio from my abit max-3 (realtek AC'97) and the klipsch ProMedia GMX D-5.1 (these ) and i had the analog connection which is two RCAs coming from the volume/control unit into a miniplug into my computer.... now i didnt think the surround was working so i talked to a friend who said i should use digital instead of analog, so i went and got a toslink optical line from radioshag.. i came home and installed it and the sound comes in but only when its "active" by this i mean, if i start a song, the sound will kick in a second after the song starts, like there is lag, and then when the song ends, you hear this quiet "thump" type sound and i have decided that it is the sound the setup makes when its turning off... like the speakers arent always active, they only start working when they are given data to play, but once the data is gone, they kind of shut off and dont stay ready to play anything.. so during a game, the first gunshot will only sound half of the time, and the rest will be fine as long as i fire consecutively and quickly, once i stop shooting for a second, the speakers go idle... it sucks .... the only thing i can think of is going back to analog but doesnt analog suck? can i even use it for surround??? sorry this post is getting long, any suggestions are GREATLY appreciated i need help bad! thanks
