I am about to buy my first laptop, but I can’t decide what brand to go with I am leaning toward Sony viao the most...

But what are the differences between
Intel core 2 duo
Intel core duo
Intel Pentium M

Which is the best to go with???

The biggest screen I want is 15.4 but may go lower....
 
Core 2 Duo is the most recent. Pentium M was first, its single core. Core 2 Duo is dual core, better performance and slightly better battery life. Core 2 Duo is dual core and 64 bit, more efficient, and improved battery life.
