help on PSU selection

I'm building a new system and was curious to know others opinions on a PSUs.

New Stuff

GPU: 2, GV-NX76G256D-RH
Motherboard: GA-M55SLI-S4
CPU: 3800+ Socket AM2
Memory: 2x512MB Ballistix PC2-6400

Old stuff
3 HDs (IDE, 2-7200rpm 1-5400rpm)
1 CD-ROM (IDE)
1 sound card

I was looking at (pcpowercooling) either 470 watt silencer or 610 watt silencer (SLI ready). The smaller supply has only one video connector, but the GPUs don't require one. I'm only interested in the 470 watt for this pair of cards, and later I will get a bigger supply. I am on a budget, so I want to avoid spending the extra money on the bigger supply. Will this work? Could this work on even smaller supplies? I currently have a 275 watt silencer (will this work with 1 GPU?).

Two of those, I'm sure the PC P&C 470W is more than enough for one, but I'm not sure about two,
as I can't find the "load data" for this GPU, therefore I'm going to error on the side of caution &
recommend something that has a little more that the PC P&C 470W's +12V@26A.

So what is the deal with modular supplies, what does that mean?

Seems to me, if the PCI-E slot can output 75 watts and this partular card max's out at 32 watts, then that would put two cards at say 65 watts. I ran a PSU calculator and it spit out 300 watts for everything, so the 470 watt supply seems like it would work? I don't know how accurate the calculator is, but it seems like there would be enough headroom.

If those G{U's are that low powered, then the PC P&C 470W is more than enough. ;)
 
7600GS consumes a peak 32W much lower than even the 7600GT's 67W you should be fine even with the two cards.
