I'd like some advice on hooking up my Asrock Extreme 4 motherboard.

1) My Corsair 650 watt PSU has two 4 pin connectors but the motherboard has a single 8 pin connector. How exactly do I hook it up?



2) When hooking up my CD-ROM drive I am able to hook up the cable to the actual drive but am not able to find where to hook it up to on the motherboard. Am I missing a cable, if so which one do I need?




3) For the "Power" and "Reset" buttons, are they supposed to go vertically or horizontally onto the pin?

 
1) The two 4-pin connectors join together to form an 8-pin connector. Line them up so the connector locks on the bottom (based on the picture) "fuse" into one part.

2) You cannot connect your CD-ROM drive. It requires an IDE connection, which your new motherboard doesn't have.

The simplest solution to your problem is to buy a new SATA optical drive. Nowadays, you can buy a SATA DVD burner for less than $25 shipped.

3) The text on the actual connectors should face up when you connect them onto the motherboard headers. Both the Power connector and the Reset connector are horizontal.
