i had a idea of placing some led lights under my computer to give a neon effect. I wanted to know, how do you connect these to the PC and what size bulbs would be appropriate. Also doe this take alot of power. I was thinking of around 4 (1 on each corner). Where would be the best place to buy these as well

hmmm...wouldnt a single cold cathode (12 incher) do the same thing? a simple and small hole through the bottom of the case would be enough to get the wires through. there SHOULD be enough clearance for the cathode there, assuming you have a case with wheels or something.

im gonna have to mess with my cathodes.

2 reasons I didn't use CCFLs.

#1 is yellow CCFLs are very pale (as are all of the colors).
#2 is that this needed to be near bullet-proof. CCFLs are extememly fragile. LEDs are near impossible to destroy.

i just wondered, where do you get the connectors (wires) to connect the leds to and the molex power connectors as well?

Check our your local Radio Shack. They have wires, leds, connectors. Should have everything you need.

Don't buy your LEDs from there. They'll run you about $200 for as many as I used.

Buy em on Ebay in bulk.

that first link is excellent, great find!
dansdata is one of those few sites that I check every day, in hopes that there will be something new posted. Typically new articles/columns/letters are posted about once per week on average, and they're always worth the wait.
