i currently have it running at 175X12.5.....for giggles...i decided to try 200X10....bad move


PC WOULD NOT BOOT....i removed teh RAM and suckah would not beep.....i was gonna cry like a two bit ho, thought i fried me mobo.....fortunately....safe mode worked (100MHz FSB setting via a jumper) and my PC is working now...

Tomorrow i get a gig of DDR400 to replace this gig of DDR333....My question:

What can i do to run it at 400? did the no-boot incident happen cuz maybe the ram couldnt handle it (Apacer with infineon chips)? is there a funky setting i shoud use? Pretty much ANY help i can get to run both the memory and the CPU at 400FSB would really hit the sweet spot and i would owe you many many cold ones....

w/ pc3200 ram in there, you should have no problem hitting 200mhz fsb, or maybe even higher.

200x10 should work fine bc that is lower than your current overall clock, so it's a speed you know the cpu should be able to handle. It sounds like your RAM could just not handle 200. More than likely you'll be able to get better clocks than 200x10, but you could start there if you wanted.
