Hey guys. Got a problem and need some help. My kids' computer is dead.

They pushed the power button but the monitor never will show the POST screen like it used to. There is no video, beeping, or anything like that. The power light and hdd access light does come on and stays on, along with hearing the hdd spin. These LED's are still on 10 minutes later and never blink or go off.The screen just says to check cable connection because it is not getting a signal from box. I know it is not the monitor because I hooked up a good one to it and still nothing. I even went so far as to change video card back to the old Rage 2 card and it didn't make any difference. It also never gave any sort of sign of any problem before it happened. Before this happened, you would hear a short beep a couple of seconds after pressing the power button, and the bios/POST screen would appear. As I said before, I thought the video card was bad, but still nothing after switching it out. Also nothing after changing monitors. I am leaning toward dead CPU or mobo, but not sure and wanted to get your opinion on it before spending more money on a dinosaur, but it serves their purpose.

Specs on the box are: AMD K6-2 400mhz cpu (o/c'd to 451), 256MB PC100 SDRAM, IBM 45 gig hdd (you don't have to tell me...it was already rma'd, but it did show post screen when it went out), DFI P5BV3+/e mobo, HP cd/rw, and ATI 32MB vid card.

Thanks guys.

Almost forgot...It is running XP Pro.

Man, I must really have problems if none of the guys here can figure this out.
