Installed a new processor in my mothers computer today and now I can't get it to boot up. Turn on the power and all it does it the normal noises like it's checking the drives but never shows anything on the monitor like it normally does. Idea's? Thanks

I cannot really help myself. I think you'll need to list more info about what you're working with, motherboard, cpu, details like that. Was it working before you started?

Thats the mb. There was a problem with the orginal proc. 2.5 celly. I installed a 2.53 P4 and now it wont boot up or post in bios. Was working fine up till the orginal problem which was startup then the proc would overheat quickly and shut down. Tracked that to the broken HSF. Hoped this new proc and fan would fix all that was wrong. Nope. Reset bios by removing the battery and still no luck.

The problems probably your fsb. I looked around and the only 2.53 I saw is a celeron D that runs on a bus of 533. The motherboard in the link says it only runs a bus of 400 so that proc just won't work in there. If you could pull a 400 bus proc from someone elses rig you could test it but I'm pretty sure thats your problem
 
OMG you think I woulda noticed that by now. Thanks. There is some residue left on the old proc. from the original hsf. How would I go about cleaning that off and I'll just install the old proc. and hope it's not toast. Thanks again.

There's some products made by the same people who make arctic silver to clean the residue if you wanna try them but your just as well off using some high-purity isopropyl alcohol and a lint free cloth of coffee filter to gently rub off the old compuond
