i'm building a new pc and i'm pretty much new to it. i'm looking for a well balanced video card(PCI-E) around the $200 price range. Can any of you suggest any and why they are good?
any help is greatly appreciated.

Try looking at the 6600GT's there pretty good cards i got the leadtek and i love it a lot. payed $146.00 it's and agp but you can get them in pci-e.
 
Go to sharkyextreme.com. New video card price guide up today. Vanilla 6800's for $214 i think.

Dang........might not be pci-e..............more like 270 for pci-e with 256.........check it out.
 
I dont care about the benchies, I wont even look at that site.

A 256bit card, with 12 pipes verses a 128bit card with 8 pipes is not a fair match up.

I think it's the mem and core speed that keeps the 6600gt up with the x800 even though there 256 and 128 bit
 
I know that but there is no doubt in my mind an x800 will be better simply because it can handle aa and higehr resolutions inherently better.
