Help Needed On System Boot Up

Ive been having problems booting up my computer. it always restarts usually during the microsoft xp window.

I got a new power supply(400w), switched the fans on my processor, cleaned the case, switched the bio settings back to defaults and it still persists. ive also turned off the computer to let it cool down and occasionaly that will work.

Another problem i have been having was when i would be playing games and the game itself would shut off. i updated the game, i got the new ati download and even called ati for tech support.

any help or input would be appreciated

AMD Athalon XP 2500+
Radeon 9600 Pro
Seagate 120 GB 7200 RPM
512 MB Ram
 
Tried a format and re-install? Sound like that sort of problem. Also, take the lid off, if it doesn't reboot it may be heat related.
