Hi all, if your reading this, thanks. I have a 500 watt generic psu. Here lately i've noticed my +12v rail has dropped lower than it usually runs. I'm usually running about 11.64v and now it seems to be dropping to about 11.49v is this too low for my computer to run stabily. My sig will tell what i'm running. I seem to be getting random blue screens. With a different error message all the time. I'll starting writting them down. It doesn't always crash just once every few days but it seems to be picking up pace. Any help or opinions would be great. Thanks.

ok not good!!!

i never get non-branded psus since they have the tendency to crap out and take every thing with it. get a good anyec true power 430w. it is plenty of power and has rock stable rails

ps. you sig is too damn long! max of 10 lines.
did you read DA RULES:D

Well first off, what are you getting those reading from? MBM, BIOS, or some other software based system? If so, don't trust it at all for exact reading. That said, however, they are pretty good at detecting relative changes, so you probably did have a .15v drop over usual. If you really were running a solid 12.00v in the first place, and you drop that much, you really have nothing to worry about. So get out the multimeter and measure it yourself! Blue screens can be from any number of things, but in this case it does sound like a memory or PSU thing.

Thanks guys, I first got the readings from bios. I realized it in the bios and then went right into windows and sure enough mother board monitor show it was dropping to 11.49 and 11.55 when before it never droped below 11.64v. So I think i'm going to look for another psu. Thanks again.
