For some odd reason, my winxp wont start anymore and I cant even get into DOS at all. I need a bootdisk that will get me to DOS so I can backup all my files on my C drive to another partition or drive. Where can I get a bootdisk that reads NTFS and FAT drives to get it to work?

Please reply fast!

THanks!

try the original xp cd, do a rescue mode thingy. or try knoppix, it's not as hard as you think. [h]ard, yes; hard, no. it'll read ntfs fine, writing is a different issue.

rescue mode doesnt work. Keeps saying access denied when I try to switch drives or coppy stuff

I have XP Pro

So far I tried NTFS Reader for DOS and I think it copies files to a FAT drive (which I formatted my F drive to FAT). So I guess it copied the files there. I guess I will do that for all my important documents, even though its super slow. Don't know what else I can do, I dont have any buddies here with XP that I can put my HD as a slave in theirs to copy stuff.

I just wish there was a way to boot up in DOS that I can access NTFS and FAT drives to copy, or just NTFS to copy.

The stupid recover mode for windows xp cd wont let me copy, says "access denied". No idea what that is about. Typing login/logon, whichever it does, doesnt help either when in recover mode.

I think I am screwed :\
