Im in the market for a new lcd that will be used for gaming and multimedia playback, but there is going to be a fair amount of image creation/editing.

Unforutnately in the price range Im looking at ($170 to ~$200), I realize then TN based monitors arent the best when it comes to color, etc, so Ive accepted that. What I would like to know is out the available TN models, which are the standouts. size wise, Id prefer something in the 21.5-22" range, but a 19" would be fine if it meant a higher quality panel.

I know that the new Dell S2200WA is out there at $220-$240, so thats definitely one Im considering since it should be alot better for the graphics work, but beyond that monitor, what would be the best 2nd choice. I have a few models that Ill list that have piqued my interest:

ASUS VW192T+ 19"

Acer H213H bmid Black 21.5"

ASUS VH226H Black 21.5"

SAMSUNG 2233SW 21.5"

Acer X223Wbd Black 22"

Acer X233Hbid Black 23"

Most of these havent been reviewed beyond reviews on newegg, so I always wonder about their quality, but if anyone has opinions on any of these monitors or if you feel there is a better option out there, Id welcome any info.

None of those monitors will come close to what the Dell will give you in my opinion.
The Dell has an IPS screen which will give you (a) better colors and (b) better viewing angles. And best of all, the input lag seems to be within an acceptable range (judging by reviews from other sites), which really gives you the best of all worlds :D
