i went into dxdiag to turn down the acceleration level to help with the sound looping bs in some source games. i moved the slider all the way to left by accident and it stuck there. now i cant move it at all. on the notes at the bottom of that page it says no "sound card found". i reinstalled my AC97 drivers but it made no difference. any suggestions?

I have no idea of this is related, but its worth a shot.
Goto control panel, sounds and audio devices properities, volume tab, under the speaker settings section, click advanced, click the performance tab, and make sure the hardware acceleration tab is set to full.
