HELP!!! my BIOS wont recognize SATA

i finally decided to take the time to turn my ATA ultra 133 HDD to a SATA one with the serillel adaptor thingy that came with my motherboard. when i opened up the floppy, i had no clue how to install the thing so i just restarted and went intothe bios and told it to boot from SATA. after i did that it would go and it would just try to boot from the next device. i figured i screwed up so i put it back on IDE and now it wont boot. it will just get to the screen that tells the BIOS rev. and what your CPU is and your RAM frequency. it doesnt let me hit delete to go into the bios options. but when i put my SATA adaptor back on i could freely go into the bios options. What did i do wrong? (system in sig). is there something in the bios that i have to change to get it to recognize my SATA?

PS. tried clearing the CMOS, didnt work:(

Id think clearing the cmos should have fixed it, maybe you bumped something loose? You sure you put the ide back in and not backwards? Id double check your connections, if that doesnt work unplug the psu, clear the cmos, hit the pwr button a time or two, wait a min then plug it all back in.

it recognizes my HDD when its not serial ATA but how on that screen it wont let me press delete to go into bios options or press F1 to continue

also it might not recognize that my HDD has transferred to SATA

ill try clearing Cmos again

should i clear it with the SATA or IDE on?

as it turns out, it will let me go into my bios options, but its taking a long ass time, and it still wont boot from my hard drive. my bios is set to boot from it, but when it gets to the part where it should, it just sits for about a minute and then tries to boot from the secondary device(which is CDROM)

EDIT!!!!!!!
i fixed the little bitch:cool: , as it turns out when i had my HDD on IDE and SATA they wereboth on the master, and im guessing that my mobo wasnt pleased with it so now i have my IDE on the slave and it is in working condition

OK now that that fiasco is over, can someone help me CORRECTLY install my serillel adaptor?
