Ok ordered a combo from monarch computers. Its an opteron 165 w/ Lanparty mobo. I ordered it fanless but they put some thermaltake shit on there i dont want however they used a TON of thermal paste gooped all over it. I cleaned it all off however there is a few pin holes in the socket with some of the paste in it. Ive been sitting here for hours with a q-tip cleaning but i doubt its possible for me to get every bit out. What will happen if i boot it with a slight amt of paste in 3 of the holes.

how the hell did you get grease in the pin holes????
well anyways was it the normal silicone white goop? or arctic silver? if it was the white goop the CPU should still work. I remember some people with the higher end cooling (phase change etc) would smear the white silicone grease into the socket for condensation purposes.

The only thing that I can thing of that would have minimal posibilty of damaging your mobo would be compressed air. Bear in mind though that its gonna be really close though... Hold the tip almost right on the affected holes
