help me with VC install error Machine_Check_exception

I recently purchased a xfx gtx260 after installing it I boot up and get a machine_check_exception blue screen_9c. Now I had this same exact error message a while back when trying to install another vc but chalked it up to it being a bad vc, but now IM assuming I must be doing something wrong. Any help is greatly appreciated, below are my stats.

I also brought new memory but my machine still shows me as just having 2gbs and not 4...any reason for that- please help anyway

This is a hardware issue: an unrecoverable hardware error has occurred. The parameters have different meanings depending on what type of CPU you have but, while diagnostic, rarely lead to a clear solution. Most commonly it results from overheating, from failed hardware (RAM, CPU, hardware bus, power supply, etc.), or from pushing hardware beyond its capabilities (e.g., overclocking a CPU).

Not real helpful... Maybe there's an issue with your northbridge if you're having memory weirdness and errors with multiple video cards? *shrug*

Oh, you didn't list your power supply. What PSU are you using? Got another you could try?

i see this is a very vague issue- gonna have to fiddle with a few things i guess...my powersupply is Antec TruePower 2.0 550W Power Supply- thanks
