Well here is what happens exactly. A monitor that i bought used from somebody work for a good month and worked how every monitor should. But soon after that one morning the monitor wouldnt turn on and all i see is the power button light blinking in blue. So me being curious i try to find a way to fix this problem and i try to turn it on and off a couple of times, or unplugging from the wall for awhile.Soon after this i get it working some how well the first life i see is a grey screen pop up like the picture on the monitor starts fading away to a grey screen. After trying again with the same method of unplugging and turning on and off i get a picture of my desktop as i am very excited that i get it to work again i go ahead and do my daily deeds on the monitor and other things. Soon later that night i notice that the screen is flashing as in the backlight i guess. Then the screen shuts off so i turn it on and off again get the picture again and it starts flashing again and turns off. So after doing this over and over it goes back to the first way it was just a black screen with the blue light power button blinking. Now i use the same cord with my new monitor and this new monitor works perfectly. So if anyone has an explanation, suggestions, ideas of what i should do to fix this please comment. The monitor is a Samsung 225BW. 22"

That monitor has both DVI and VGA inputs. If you're using DVI try using VGA.
I use to have that monitor and i remember having issues with it blacking out while connected to DVI but it was fine when using VGA.

it actually kinda the opposite i use vga on this monitor and was curious on how dvi wold work with it hmmm off to walmart for dvi cable
