Okay, so I have a factory build eMachine's computer. But I bought an ATX Case, and when I gutted it and put it in the new case, it didn't work :(. Do ATX Cases only work with AMD Motherboards? Because I have this computer is Intel. That's the only problem I ran into because I put it back into the old case and it works fine. And if that's so, is there any way I can mod the ATX case to run with my Intel mobo???

Ok, it doesn't matter what kind of system you run in an ATX case. ATX is just a type of visual layout each component is in. I'm stumped at how it won't work if you just change cases. List specs of everything and show which case you got.

Its probably your power button. Make sure your PSU is hooked up to everything, and your PSU is on the on position. Look into the power button though, right mobo place, etc.

Also make sure you put standoffs in the case ONLY for each mounting hole on the motherboard.. no extras.

So what was it?

he bought an emachine :D

hey bro. with your sound problems. restore the operating system with the disks that came with your computer. if you still dont get sound, send it our for repair because the mobo prolly died. assuming you bought the extended service plan. or just pick up a pci sound card. but seeing that you took it out of the original case and broke the seal on the door. you voided your warranty. good job bro. lol jk.

but i work for best buy at a service center and i fix emachines all teh time. but the mobos they put in em suck. cant realyl expect too much for 300 bucks though.

Lucky, wish I could work for Best Buy :p

no you dont. lol. the corporate a-holes are downsizing the service centers and hiring more douchebag geeksquad guys.

oh, if you are a geeksquad guy and you are offended. GFY!!!!!!

we hate geeksquad people here at the service centers. they pick the most retarded young kids who know nothing about computers. just because you have a + doesnt mean you can repair a computer.

an example, we got a computer in that said a geeksquad guy dropped a processor and the pins were bent. well, we got it in and it looked like the guy tried to twist the processor into the socket. i just wanted to walk up to him, knock him out and say, "its not lefty loosey, right tighty you idiot." lol. and the worst thing was. it was a brand new amd64.

Ha! Classic, what an idiot. But i'm not out've highschool, I would work almost anywhere :p

lol. best buy would be a good place to work right out of high school. try and get into a computer tech spot, they pay better. and geeksquad makes liek 17 an hour starting.

Sounds good, you should move to geeksquad :p get those kids in line!

i work at bestbuy too, we don't even have any service guys who are non geeksquad, but unfortunately i don't believe our GS agents get ~$17/hour. Well I take that back they shouldn't get $17/hour at my store because most of them don't know how to install a PCI card, but they were taught to install Norton AV and Spysweeper so they are deemed qualified. BestBuy is a great place to work when you are young, but only if your management is good. When I started management was great, but now it's not so hot. Just went up for my annual review(I started working at BB @ 16) and I still make less than cashier girls do, and I do much more work. I guess they would call me a sales associate.
Just out of curiousity to the other BB employee, what store do you work at(#)?

A freind of mine works at geek squad, and they sure do hire some retards that don't know much about anything. But there are a few people he works with that are just computer gurus..

This problem's kind of related to a problem my friend's having (sorry to hijack this thread, if I am x_x). He moved his HP into a Thermaltake Armor, but I'm not sure whether the board is custom-made for the HP computer or if the case itself just has a proprietary front panel connector or something, but the front panel connector on the board is a 9-pin connector (like a USB or Firewire connector) that has no labels anywhere. I'm just wondering if there is an online diagram or anything that would show where things go...not everything fits onto the panel, naturally.

To keep on topic...er...well, I'm glad you got help for your problem. :p
