It is time to upgrade my video card. Current set up is i5 2500k ocd to 3.8ghz, Radeon 5850, 16gb ddr3. Is anything pretty much a upgrade at this point?

The r9 280 is still the best value under $200 for pure price/performance and future-proofing:

But if Freesync is important to you, then get thew 285 then![]()
If you can't go beyond $200, get the R9 285 as it will stomp the 960 all over. You would need a GTX 970 to be a worthy nvidia card
Um what? A 285 and 960 are nearly even.If you can't go beyond $200, get the R9 285 as it will stomp the 960 all over. You would need a GTX 970 to be a worthy nvidia card

If that's the case why does [H]'s GTX 960 review show it beating the 285 in every game except Tomb Raider where they tied ? The 285 lost to the GTX 960 in 2560 as well. There are valid reasons to go with the 285 but I fail to see where it stomps all over the GTX 960.
I really got stop using Tomshardware and WCCtech
You do know that there are butt loads of 960 reviews right?Would the 760 outperform a 960?
