Help me remember...

For some reason my mind went off on a strange tangent today and I am now pulling my hair out trying to jog my memory. I'm trying to remember the name of a game that was hyped beyond all belief when it was first announced. All I can remember is that it had some, at the time, pretty impressive CG cut scenes and ended up being a fairly plain platform type game. Part of my memory seems to think it was about a young boy who was dragged off into another dimension but I'm not even sure about that. Maybe he had a dog too? Any ideas or am I going mad. TIA :D
 
Was that Nox? There was a man dragged into another dimension, tho it was a bit RPG, and can't remember the dog
 
Finally got it with the google search "platform game shadow monsters boy cut scenes pc delayed"...

It was Heart of Darkness.

Not sure why I got that game stuck in the recesses of my mind. Enjoyed the chance to make this pointless thread though.
