I just got my DFP>DVI Adapter in the mail, and hooked my older Compaq FP700 LCD up. I booted up and it ran great. I rebooted, and upon getting into Windows, I found that my FP700 won't power up at all! Do you think it's a monitor problem, or a software problem? The monitor now refuses to power up in any way shape or form.
 
When you say power up do you mean that nothing is displayed or you can turn the monitor on? Do you see anything during boot? Does it just disappear when Windows starts?
 
does it have power going to it? i mean, is the little green light on, or is it orange/yellow/blinking? if it is orage/yellow/blinking, and the computer is on, it may be CMOS problem. something similair happened to me.

When you turn off the Tower, can you turn on the monitor, and will the green light appear for a moment? and if the tower is turned on, will it just stay at orange/yellow/blinking.

you can clear CMOS by switching a jumper and then switching it back while the power to the tower is off, consult your mobo manual to find out which jumper.

Only thing I can think of. it might not have anything to do with it at all, but worth a try. All clearing CMOS will do is set your BIOS setting to default.
