Help me pick a water cooling solution

Hello,
I am a total Noob at water cooling. I have never used it before, but for my next build I would like to try.

I would be running a DFI LanParty Ultra D motherboard
1x 7800 GT or GTX
Opteron 165 or 170 Socket 939
the case would be a ThermalTake ARMOR

I don't really care about water coolin the GT or GTX because I am not planning on overclocking it a lot. I am planning on overclocking the Opteron though. I don't know if it's important to water cool the chip set. In any case, I would probably turn the Chipset cooler on the DFI LanParty Ultra D to max speed, I REALLLY don't care about how noisy the computer it is. Just doesn't bother me.

I don't know yet my price range. Also, I would like a Water Cooling kit for the sake of simplicity for a noob, BUT I am open to buying seperate water cooling parts and putting them together if they help me achieve better temps..

So please recommend me some parts..

a good option, but may be hard to find an Apex right now since the kit is being replaced by the Apex "Ultra".
 
Can someone post somelinks with were I could buy the Apex of Apex Ultra kit from?
I was actually thinking of getting the Koolance Exos for about $150-200. Does their performance reallly suck?

The other Apex kit looks to be out of stock everywhere, I would keep trying though. It seems that the only difference between the Apex and the Apex Ultra is the CPU block (Storm and Apogee) and the resoviour...
 
what about the asetek water chill kit? i really like the compression fittings. It seems at a lot easier to install and check leaks vs clamps.
 
if you really want the storm block all of the parts of the apex kit are available from www.jab-tech.com

and its cheaper than ordering the apex kit itself
its even cheaper to buy all the parts of the new "ULTRA" kit than the storm APEX kit
 
Anyone know anything about the Evercool WC202, the Titan Robela Case OR the Koolance Exos? How well would they cool an Opteron 165. Maybe I should just go Asetek or Swifttech...though they are pricey
 
I would definately buy from different companies and put them all together. Check out Danger Den. You get better temps if you choose carefully. Also, you have unlimited options. Also, you should choose if you're gonna use a res or a t-line or fill up.
 
SO would do you think of Exos or Exos2 with the Opteorn 165? I would like to buy it because I can find it fairly easily and it's a kit. I would not prefer searching for all the parts seperately at different online stores for various reasons, such as how much I can trust different online retailers, and I really don't know like what the best tubing to get and etc....

This is basically the Apex kit, and all you'd still need are a couple of 120mm fans for your rad, and some clamps for your connections. All of those links go to Jab-tech.com, a place i've ordered from many times with no problems, and i'm pretty sure they accept paypal.

you've asked this beforen and no one really answered.

the koolance exos gives decent performance, but nothing to write home about. you can get better performance with the swiftech apex kit, in that price range, or you can get comperable performance for much cheaper with other parts.

what are your priorities? super low noise (mid to low 20 dB range for the whole thing), low noise, ultimate performnce, really low price (doesn't make sense if you are considreing the koolance exos)?

you can trust your cred card with most online computer stores. they tend not to stay in business for very long if they can't be trusted, since visa or mastercard is more than willing to shut down stores that end up defrauding them.

My priority is Ultimate Performance, Reliability, Good Price.
I don't care about how noisy it is.

depending on the apogee reviews id get the storm for $10 more.

they're not the best parts and they're not the worst. if you can get a really good deal on them or something, they'll do the job adequately.

the swiftech MCW55 or the DD maze 4 GPU block is less flow restrictive than the asetek GPU block, and the asetek pump is not as good a performer as the MCP655.

the DD maze chipset block is supposed to be less restrictive than the Z-pattern block that DD used to use, and one would assume that the same is true of asetek'a Z chipset block as well.

which rad that DD sells? the thermochill 120.2 is the best that they sell, but it's also expensive as hell. the black ice pro II works well and is reasonably cheap.

i would tend to go with the swiftech storm instead of the apogee if you are planning on getting a powerfull pump and going for high performance, regardless of what swiftech's posted numbers say.

what specific fan that DD sells? i don't really reccomend any of their fans......

there is nothing really special about swiftech's rad either. it works well, but it's not a super-rad.

also nothing special about hydraX coolant additive. regular automotive antifreeze works as well, and you can get in in whatever colour you want, with whatever UV additive you like.

now, just so you realize, you have both the storm and apogee listed, which are CPU blocks, and no GPU blocks listed.

I know, I am going to get the Storm instead of the Apogee. I don't need a GPU block, because I don't intend to do major videocard overclocking..

Uh huh.
Just to save time I'll recommend the Sunbeam fan controller now.

I'm pretty sure that the hottest component in your box will be the vid card, not the CPU.
You might want to rethink your loop a bit.

The GPU maybe the hottest component, but since I am not planning on overclocking it a lot, if at all, I am not worried about that heat. A 7800GT or GTX is already plenty fast enough for me and AOE3...
BUT I do want to OC the CPU and increase the voltage...
