At first I tried to find something to use for gaming on my PC and xbox 360. I found these TV's:
Sharp's LC-32GP1U
Sharp's LC 42D72U

I read in one of the posts here that the Sharp's LC-32GP1U worked as a great monitor but my only worries is that the Vyper-Drive option won't do jack and the 6ms response time will be trouble. Another worry is the two TV's I listed will be too big and it will be hard to use for certain games. So, I was thinking, maybe it would be better just to get a monitor like Samsung's 226BW and get a seperate TV for my 360 and watching TV.

So, my main question here is would the LC-32GP1U work as a good monitor solely for PC gaming and xbox 360 or should I get a seperate, smaller monitor and a different TV for xbox 360/TV?

Thanks in advance.

My monitors have a rated 6ms response times and they are great for gaming. I would go for it. I am sure you will be happy with your purchase.
Did you look at the Westinghouses?

Well, I'm upgrading from a 17" Samsung CRT so I have never really had any experience with response time and how much a difference a couple ms makes. I actually haven't seen the Westinghouse monitor. Would the size of the screen be a problem for certain games? If not which of the Sharp models should I buy? I'm really considering getting a separate monitor and TV.

If you plan on using the Aquos mainly a computer monitor and only secondarily as a gaming display, I'd recommend against it.

At least try to purchase from a retailer that has an easy return policy should you not like the display.

Coming from sharp computer LCDs, I just can't accept the image quality of HDTVs. Maybe you're like me, maybe not.

Are you going be gaming on the that tv with your computer? If so what is your video card?

Yes, I'm going to be using this for mainly gaming. My video card is a Radeon X1900XTX.

Also, if anyone knows of some other monitors/TV's you think I should look at please show me. :)

for a computer I would say 24 is more than enough, 32 or 37 inch tvs dont seem to have 1080P at least not the ones I saw, besides that no adustable stand for height (afterall they were not designed for PC desktop use).

I would say get a 24 for the PC and something larger for TV, I think larger than 24 is too large for the desktop, you would need to elevate it up five or six inches OFF THE DESK if yo ugo with a large TV and you would likely be sitting too close for such a large screen like a 32 or 37.

Well, I've changed my perspective. After calibrating the Aquos, I can definitely recommend it. Just make sure that you get the 1080 model. Your GPU isn't powerful enough to run many newer games at 1080p, but the Aquos (and I think 37" Westy) has no problems scaling down the resolution.

I'd actually recommend against 24" LCDs for gaming in your case unless you upgrade to an 8800GT at least.

You would recommend a 32 or 37 over a 24 inch panel? thats awful big for a desktop, they will all be in need of a good graphics card. They all have the same native resolution do they not??

I have a 24 and dont run mine in native at all with no ill effects.

Actually, your graphics card will be less stressed with a 1080p HDTV because it has fewer overall pixels than 1920x1200.

As long as you sit at least 2.5-3.5' away from a 32" and 3-4' away from a 37" 1080p display, it will be wicked for gaming and movies and solid for web-surfing and desktop use.

Watching HD films and gaming on a larger HDTV are more enjoyable to me.
